2. Easy walk to west end - many good places to eat - the art museum, the aquarium, other hotels, etc. Valet is expensive but only half what you'd pay in most East coast cities, so it is all relative.

Location is fantastic - heart of the Art district in downtown Dallas - a mile from the happening spots in the evening at Mcinney Ave; connected to the underground from the lobby of the hotel (was a boon for me as my place of business was 3 blocks away and was walking distance and the underground tunnel system was very convenient and comfortable and safe); for the fitness fanatics, register yourself online in the President`s club Loyalty program and get free wireless access and the 24 fitness club (with free apparel once you move up - 10 night stays in a calendar year)In-house restaurant is on the expensive side ($50 and up for a decent dinner), but they do have a cafe that has a limited menu; outside there are a couple of steakhouses within walking distance.
