1. My suites were enormous, with a huge sitting area, dining area, as well as a spacious bedroom and bathroom, as well as a second powder for guests.

Last time our standard room was a little cramped (not bad), so this time we sprang for the King Suite, which was fabulous: luxuriously and attractively renovated with antique-style furniture, a big living room, big bathtub as well as a shower, semi-kitchenette (microwave etc but no burners), foyer, and extra w.

7. She seemed to shrug off the whole haunted thing, but mentioned that a king suite on the second floor had had some activity, but we knew we certainly weren't going to get that for a Priceline price.

8. From what I understand, there are large suites at this property, so apparently a few folks enjoy those at the expense of the rest of us who are crammed into tiny spaces.

9. Having recently stayed at the Carolina Inn for a wedding we were in town for, we did not regret our decision to 'upgrade' our reservation for a Junior Suite from a regular Queen room.
