1. The Comfort Inns in Northern California have newer decor, up to date furniture, and more importantly are CLEAN.

2. Decor was simple but carpet, chair, bedspreads, and wallpaper all looked like had been in service for a few years.

3. I was also relieved to find a more soothing palette in the decor (beiges, warm golds, with some deep red accents) instead of the usual manic-looking patterns found on a tour bus or a Carnival Cruise.
