1. However free wifi helps make activity planning easier, and I guess few people come here to spend time around the hotel.

3. It is our opinion that wifi access should be free in almost all circumstances, it's a vital tool for life in the 21st century and to charge for it when a facility is in place in a given location is just a ripoff.

Being situated on the Wharf it is within 10 mins walk to the Alcatraz Ferries and 5 mins to Pier 39, its a good 10 mins walk to the Powell Hyde cable car and 5 mins to the Powell Mason Line, the historic tram passes the hotel door, you are two blocks from the bus to Coit Tower and Union SquareThe free wifi was a bit hit and miss, it depended where you were in the room.
