3. I also shouldn't forget to say that the new restaurant Caprice and the new lobby bar appear to be quite the hot spots as both were busy well into the evening, even on nights earlier in the week when I was staying there.

6. We booked the Pierre as an alternative to The Plaze where we stayed 2 years ago hoping that it would be an improvement over rooms with no views (hotel rooms at the Plaze are all inward facing - the condos have the views), a poor room service menu, and a lobby full of tourists.

I have to say that I was impressed that the hotel still maintains its 'old-world' charm by employing elevator operators (who couldn't be more friendly) and by having maintained most of the architectural details during its recent renovation (I really enjoyed that they still have a functional mail chute, expansive marble lobby, and crown moldings throughout the building).
