1. It's away from the buzz of the main street, in a quiet street.

2. It is next to the officical Gaslamp district which helps to avoid the noise though it is close enough to walk to the numerous restaurants, shops, bars, etc. It is also free of the street people you see closer to downtown San Diego.

3. The hotel is located close to all the action, so, there is a lot to do (try the Knotty Barrel down the street for a great beer).

4. The one drawback is that Parking is very expensive, so you'd do best to get street parking.

5. The Gaslamp District is touristy to the point where we didn't bother with it, but even for those taking advantage, I'd think being just outside it, as this hotel is, is a big plus for avoiding excess street noise.

8. It would be the must stay place if in town for a Padres game with a very cool gastropub (Knotty Barrel) across the street.

9. No towels available, air conditioner not working in beautiful room and it was scorching hot in July, noisy streets for 2 nights, it was a very bad experience for such a lovely hotel.

10. It is in the gaslamp just a few streets removed from the 'party zone', which made it accessible to the great parts of the district while also allowing us some peace and quiet in the evening.
