2. The parking is right near the inn, and it is free (most of the resorts charge $20 / day for valet parking like Marriott across the street).

The Garden Island Inn is a modest, extremely friendly and accommodating older but clean hotel in a superb location: we were able to spend our last day on the beach (calm beach just across the street: good swimming and nice place to learn to surf) and then take a short, $10 taxi ride to the airport.

5. Free wifi and beach equipment are definite pluses, and you can't beat the location: The beach is right across the street and many excellent restaurants and shops (including the convenience of an ABC Store) are -very- short walking distance.

6. If you're looking for heavy on friendly and functionality and light on ambiance and the wallet, save yourself $100 off a stay at the Marriott (across the street), and park it at the Garden Inn.
