1. Staying at the Westin gives you restaurant discounts at the St Regis (good) but not at the Westin (seems that they don't want you eating there).

Tips:- Hanalei Bay near the pier is a beautiful beach for swimming- Foodmart in Princeville Market had the best selection of food - get the store card for discounts- the Taco Cart by Hanalei Bay is an awesome, cheap lunch while you're on the beach- if it's raining or grey, drive to the South shore and it will probably be sunny- try the Farmer's Market on Saturday in Hanalei.

7. Note - I saw my friend's place at Hanalei bay resort, it was a similar price ( compared to westin with discount), and the hanalei is much older, dated resort.
