It was so much fun to wake up to the breakfast (fresh fruit and delicious toasted coconut coffee included with the stay-yum!), chat with the amazingly friendly and knowledgeable staff, and relax at night to a movie (the front desk had a nice selection of DVDs) or watch cable on the huge screen tv.

4. Nice touch that the front desk is open until 9:00 p.m. The parking is free as is the wi-fi, though you do have to access it in the lobby where a very comfortable sofa is available.

5. (the bed was amazing!) I found the owners, George and Rhonda Tandal to be very nice, as well as all of the front desk personnel, with honorable mention going out to Kawena Bagano, who rose to the occasion when I was experiencing some obstacles while traveling solo.

9. It's unusual that I willingly agree to pay more for something than I had planned, but let me tell you - we checked out of this hotel on the final day and paid that bill with a smile, and we never did tell the front desk about that initial mix-up.

10. The hotel has a small but nice swimming pool, which we never used, and they provide beach towels at the front desk.
