3. The hotel overlooks a gorgeous beach and a serene, inviting blue-water lagoon that is shared with the Disney resort next door so there are lots of families with young children around.

4. we did drive to the North Shore and that felt like the real Hawaii with the natural beaches and big waves and we stopped ate some local fruit stands and bough fresh cut up fruit and had fresh cooked shrimp from Fumi's shrimp truck which was awesome.

5. It's a beautiful property with great beaches and lovely grounds, and it's nice that it's away from all the madness of Waikiki but close enough in that you can easily go for dinner or the afternoon.

6. Ko'olina is a nice change of pace from the hustle and bustle of Waikiki, offering beautiful (but man made) beaches that are much less crowded and less crowds overall than Waikiki.

8. I had to search and go off the property to find a special secret cove to find the beauty and peace I wanted on the beach.

9. During our stay, we walked down to the Marriott beach club and saw that they had more unique pools and 'heated' ones and for this reason alone, I would recommend staying at the marriott beach club if you have a choice - the facilities are much better.
