1. My wife and I rode down to the Santa Monica Pier (~1 mile), and on to Venice Beach (~3 miles) and back, with plenty of time left.

2. The room was extremely comfortable and well appointed with eclectic beach house items and nice linens, 2 large plasma screens (I had a suite) and a very large window facing the ocean - also great for people watching.

3. Out of the crowds, this is a great place to relax and enjoy the beach then walk the few blocks to the Promenade for dinner or drinks.

4. They had beach bikes which were free for guests to use for the first 2 hours, ($10/hour after that).

7. My husband and myself went jogging daily on the Santa Monica Beach, directly across the street, and some days we rented roller blades and bikes to cruise past the Santa Monica Pier.
