1. I chose this La Quinta for a combination of reasons -- great location (across the highway from Highland Park and a strip mall with plenty of places to eat), pet friendly, and low cost ($69/night).

2. (By the way the rooms on the back side are very quiet with no highway noise!) There were a variety of minor issues that popped up during my stay (ie, smokey room, phone not working, etc), but the price, location, and hospitality/responsiveness of the staff (more than I expected for a budget chain), outweighed any of the small negatives.
