1. The area seems nice, a lot of revitalization going on and the hotel is convenient to the VA Hospital as well as downtown.

4. There is a pool and hottub that looked clear and inviting and a bar - bartender John is a very nice guy - where you can get diner up until 9pm if one doesn't want to venture out in downtown Phoenix at night.

7. My favorite place to stay in downtown Phoenix is the Sheraton, but the rates there are significantly higher, so I decided to try the Hilton Garden Inn.

8. It's only a couple blocks to walk to the metro light rail, which will take you to the downtown core for a couple bucks.

9. The light rail runs down the street in front of the hotel, so you can at least get downtown from here.

10. If you don't have a car, there are various restaurants you can walk to, or just hop the light rail ($10.50 for a 3-day unlimited pass) and head downtown.
