The hotel is located in a great spot, right across the
street
from the National Geographic and not far from other tourist sites, but for us, having lived in DC for years, we loved being close to Dupont Circle, U
Street
and Adams Morgan.

The hotel is a boutique property (with around 90 rooms) housed in a beautiful 10 or 11 story beaux-arts style building on the corner of 16th and M
Street
s.

Even though there is a lot of
street
traffic during the week, virtually there was not very much outside noise coming into the room.

The staff was very professional and discreet and when a cab was needed and the bellman was away, the 'very well dressed' female front desk receptionist proceeded to walk out of the lobby, into the
street
and hail a cab before we could blink an eye.

In addition, my room faced the
street
, and while it is by no means a main artery of the city, it was a more or less constant cacophony of sirens and frustrated motorists honking their horns, day and night.
