1. As a tourist who had never been to DC before I asked the front desk as I checked in which was the best way to go to see the sights and they gave me a free map and pointed me in the right direction (very helpful advice), not too far to walk to the Whitehouse and not too far to walk to the bus stop at DuPont Circle which took me most places, the very reasonably priced taxis took me elsewhere.
