First, the hotel itself was in the perfect location in Georgetown, it was close to various restaurants, shops and was in a nice area were you can just
walk
around at night (safe in terms of tourist lingo).

I love the story about the guest who
walk
s up to the reception and says, please give me the room you would give me if I turned down the first one you offered.

Not to mention it is the start of the Georgetown shops and you can just
walk
the distance.

The folks in the gym in the morning are to be particularly complimented (although the seemingly large number of guests who feel it is OK to hog running machines to
walk
for an hour while others wait detracted from the experience).

The only negative for tourist is that you can't just
walk
to the white house, smithsonian museums and the metro is a
walk
but its Georgetown and if you been looking around you would already know this.

However, it is about 1.5 mile
walk
to the Foggy Bottom Train station - which you should use if you are going to the Monuments or Museums in DC.
