1. We made our reservation through Expedia and they were not able to guarantee a non-smoking room or a king size bed, but the Holiday Inn delivered on both of these requests (not to mention that our room was on the top floor, at the end of the hall, with a nice view of downtown New Orleans).

2. My room was on the 16th floor with a good view of downtown (the lower floors are the garage level so there's plenty of parking).

The best part of the hotel would have to be the pool which is stunning its situated on the 8th floor if I can remember correctly on the roof top great view and hardly used :-/ The gym was small but has what u need ie running machine etc. if your not a fan of walking then this hotel might not be suited for you as Bourbon street is a 10-15minute walk.
