I opted for a room with a window facing outside as opposed to one with a hallway

On the down side, the rooms are small, the

is lousy, and it was a long walk to get into the action in the French Quarter.

might not be possible since the hotel is surrounded by tall buildings (Our window faced the interior of the hotel).
