2. Some examples that prove it is a budget hotel: worn edges on the towels, small amounts of dirt in the corner of the shower and substantial lime deposits on the shower head (but otherwise clean bathroom).

The carpet was wet and smelled, the wallpaper was pealing off, the toilet ran continuously (until my husband fixed it), the shower head was lacking the wall cover (I was joined by a visiting bug during a shower), the bathroom floor was continuously wet (must have been some sort of leak), and we were not moved when we complained.
