5. We luxuriated at the pool and the spa, drank gin and tonics while 'rafting' on inner tubes around a circular canal, and topped the afternoon off with relaxing massages before more drinks on the veranda and dinner in one of the hotel's excellent restaurants.

7. The food was Italian / Modern American and all delicious: house made bread with excellent extra virgin olive oil, appetizers that could be a meal in themselves and finally, the main course - we cowardly declined desserts, too full to continue to eat.
