4. It does seem to have a very popular restaurant, and the wine list is extensive, however, I did not enjoy my meal at the restaurant - and the wait staff was not attentive.

Once I received the main course no one came back to the table, when I was finished I tried getting the attention of wait staff (difficult if you`re not facing the room), and after about 15 minutes of this I got up and left, stopped at the desk and signed the bill but left no gratuity, told the person there how disappointed I was and then went back to my room.

We wanted atmosphere, but we needed more comfortable places to sit, a phone elsewhere than next to the bed (we had a suite with a desk that cried out for another phone), a living room layout condusive to both a TV and a fireplace, a toilet that didn`t have to be flushed several times each time it was used, and attention from management above the office staff when serious things went wrong one after the other.

Rates vary depending on the season but worth the little extra you get from a well-trained staff, a fabulous chef (he makes a perfect duck flambe), and a thousand other little attentions to detail that makes the Hacienda del Sol a home away from home for the weary business traveler who has earned a high quality resort stay for his hard work.
