4. The location in the Gaslamp area is great, the 19th century look and feel, the shopping, and nightlife is all here, no need to get the tourist-shafting experience in the Old Town (although the Old Town is a wonderful place to explore by day, by night it is disappointing).

5. The breakfast terrace on the roof, which allows smoking in the open part, was a wonderful bonus, great views over the whole of downtown while enjoying a breakfast in the sun or in the shade, your choice.
