1. Front desk service was excellent, the fitness room was adequate and it was mostly quiet (workers started pressure washing the pool area kind of early).

2. Under pressure, they aided folks by allowing them to hang out in the lobby (albeit small) rather than the airport; they opened the restaurant early, and requested kitchen staff to stay on past their shifts, and late into the night; Folks were unable to get to flights, much less grocery stores or into town, and the staff managed all of this with much grace and kindness.

3. Booked this hotel to give myself a place to nap prior to a redeye to New York: found an outstanding rate via priceline of $49 for a king bed; Little did anyone know, Portland would be hit by the biggest snowstorm in 20 years, effectively shutting down both the airport and the entire metropolitan area for a week; The staff at the Red Lion, under pressure from busloads of stranded passengers arriving without reservations from the airport, did an AMAZING job.
