1. The pool itself is shaded much of the time, which is good in a New Orleans summer as it keeps the water pleasantly cool.

2. In addition, the rooms were quite spacious, the bed was very comfortable and the bath products were nice (Aveda I believe) The lobby bar was very cool, not very busy but the bartenders were great and very knowledgeable.

6. The lobby, bar, and waiting areas on the first floor are decked out in chic and modern decor, which if you're into that kind of thing, is probably very cool.

8. I recommend this hotel for singles or couples traveling without kids if you want a cool place to stay that's quiet but still near the action.
