1. From the doorman to the concierge, the bar staff in the Oak Bar (they make the best martini I've had in years) to the room service staff, they are a solidly professional group of people who made us feel welcome and pampered.

Gargantuan rooms, as large or larger than most contemporary hotel suites, well appointed furnishings, some with antique lamps and furniture of antebellum genre, a daily assortment of delicious, freshly baked cookies and hot cider, manned (and womaned) by a phalanx of well trained hotel professionals, the Hermitage's craftsmanship and bygone-era-style will never be replicated.
