5. The main level seems to be divided into two areas where you can almost tell the old part (front casino, Careful Kittys restaurant) and the new part (check-in, Robertas Steakhouse, Gift shop, etc) - the new areas are very tasteful and hold their own with some of the other downtown properties.

7. I particularly liked the location, because I was there primarily for a family wedding, but still wanted a taste of Vegas, which El Cortez itself offers in addition to it's location, close-by the Fremont Experience (located approx 2 miles North of The Strip), and allows you comfort & convenience of relaxation when you want to 'kick-back' in your room without the 24 hour craziness of the Strip.

8. But those of you who are looking for a taste of vintage Vegas; those of you who are looking for an attraction that 'just is' and not developed by some marketing team; those of you who like it a bit on the sleazy side, the El Cortez is possibly the last great piece of Old Vegas.
