4. View from the rooftop pool/bar was great, and since we didn't plan on swimming, (sunny, but very cool in December) the small pool was not an issue.

7. As many have commented, you don't have to deal with a casino on the ground floor, just a big, cool, public area with seating, a concierge (who were unfailingly very helpful.

9. I know you don't go to Vegas to spend hours at the pool but in 100+ degree heat, it was important to us that we could cool off and the pool just did not fit the bill.
