4. Hotel Aspen features a great location, easy walking distance to Aspen's restaurants, shops, and Ajax -- or just pick up your skis and walk a few steps or across the street to the free shuttle to the other ski areas.

5. We spent two nights here, and enjoyed a warm, fairly hearty free breakfast, watched a couple of free DVDs, and were very happy that our loyal companion (our dog) was able to join us.
