1. Management a bit on the rough side, probably they didn't like us to go, but didn't any effort to convince us otherwise.

2. 99 a night, which is an insanely low price for the area (it's in a safe, nice section of town, not the ghetto like most cheap hotels in major cities.

3. The major bus routes are just a few minutes away on foot and take you straight pass key areas like North Beach, Chinatown, Union Square, Fisherman's Wharf.

9. This probably isn't the right place for you if you like staying right near Union Square (where either you pay $40/night parking or your car gets broken into) or if you are deciding between the Francis Drake, Mark Hopkins and this place.

If you're like us, you'll appreciate this clean hotel a little off the beaten track at an unbeatable price: get up for a run past the Palace of Fine Arts to the Golden Gate Bridge, have breakfast on Chestnut St or Union Street (both near Fillmore, all walking distance), get along your day in and around the city, come back for a shower and zip through the Broadway tunnel into North Beach for dinner.
