1. Several blocks south at Oak and Van Ness is the San Francisco Conservatory of Music, which has great free (or cheap) concerts almost every night in season.

7. Definitely for the budget traveller, our room was clean, relatively spacious, with a coffee maker, cable tv, and free wifi (the last of which is, for some reason, not advertised, so it was a very pleasant surprise).
