1. There are many shops nearby, including a Walgreens just a block away for basic needs (you can also buy souvineers there for a much cheaper price -- this advise was given by a front desk staff).

4. Parking was on the high side but after looking around was cheaper than some other locations in the city (San Fran parking is limited in many areas hence the hight cost).

5. There may be some cheaper hotels in this area, and there are certainly more expensive ones, but the remodeled Marriott Courtyard at Fisherman's Wharf would seem to be the best deal, at least for now.

8. we had a rental car and parking is $30 which seems steep, but cheaper than if you were to choose a downtown marriott.

9. Skip the cable car at the west end of the wharf - you will wait in line forever and then be packed in it like a sardine - you can take the trolley that starts right in front of Walgreen`s for way cheaper and it takes you to the same end point at the fancy cable car.
