1. I reccomend getting to the visitor center at the bottom of Powell street and Market to get a guide to the free walking tours in the city, we did the financial district, beautiful buildings and surprising open spaces on roof tops and the tour of Castro famous for the gay community and Harvey Milk.

8. While others stayed at MUCH MORE expensive hotels, we were treated to complimentary wifi; coffee, pastries & melon each morning; and complimentary wine, cheese & crackers each afternoon in the beautiful and historic lobby.
