The neighborhood is
quiet
, the hotel is opposite the entrance to the Japanese district, and near Fillmore Street, a street that becomes super romantic night with lights in the trees and restaurants for dinner.

More about the area: Japantown is a surprisingly nice and
quiet
area to stay, with an authentic Japanese urban feel.

I found the hotel fairly
quiet
which means that I could have been one of those loud guest.

It is a nice and
quiet
part of town, and is a far enough separated from the areas of SF that look/feel a little seedy.

- a rarity in SF.

Hotel Tomo is a bargain- I got a great rate online and it's in a nice
quiet
neighborhood which is centrally located, easy access to bus lines.

Also, I was walking around alone a lot and the Japantown area was
quiet
and felt very safe - it was a nice place to come back to after the craziness of Union Square or Fisherman's Wharf.

But after 11pm (the time Hotel Tomo repeatedly reminds it's patrons is '
quiet
time') we had no problems with noise at all.

Good
quiet
location, 30 min walk up/down hill to Fisherman's Wharf and a bus journey back kept the kids happy (17 &14 years) .
