1. Small as excepted, a view of a dirty alley, stiff sheets and an uncomfortable bed.

2. I recently stayed at the mercer with my girlfriend and the hotel and restaurant was great EXCEPT for the fact that the a/c in the hotel and the restaurant was NOT WORKING.

4. The Housekeeping with exceptional, we stayed 3 nights and whoever cleaned and tidied our room did a fantastic job down to the last detail.

7. The food at the Mercer Kitchen downstairs turned out to be excellent which meant we didn`t venture out for meals much (Nobu Tribeca one of the few exceptions).

8. Everything was better than expected - from the location right in the heart of Soho, to the chic decor, to the ambiance, to the attentiveness of the staff (not too little or too much) to all the room extras - no charge for most of the honor bar items (except the alcohol of course).

9. We`d go back in a second & we would have said it was perfect except the Mercer Kitchen was too dark, too noisy, the food too ordinary & the staff too erratic.

10. Other than some very spotty room service delivery one breakfast morning (no ice in ice water, dry french toast), my stay was exceptional.
