1. Carpet had cigarette burns in it and looked gross, the leather couch had stains, the night stand had a big stain, the white curtains had very noticeable grease (or something) stains on them, the bathrooms looked gross, and the room, overall, smelled & felt 'dirty'.

5. Andrew greeted us with a nice big smile and eventhough it was a packed house he took the time to greet us and introduce himself as if we had stopped in at a dive bar.

6. Having two shower/bath areas is simply genius, definitely shaving off time it would take to get ready for a big night on the town.

The area around: Taxis are direct in front of the hotel and there are always enough, several bus lines (but sometimes it's confusing when the busses are leaving, the bus stop stations don't have big signs, so you really have to look)Subway is there too, good for a trip to Universal City - there is a free bus waiting and bringing you directly to Universal City.

8. The rooms are big, big TV, big bed, great air conditioner, minibar, hairdryer, safe (not so big, if your laptop is to big, it doesn't fit in), iron + board, enough towels, and an alarm with i-pod docking station, phone.

9. The public spaces are nice (if you can get past the jersey shore trash all over the place) and are made up to look like 1920s Hollywood with big tufted leather couches and dark wooden beams and ornate painted ceilings.

10. Is that what Thompson Hotels think make a great stay? Good looking, young people that slightly know they are? They would do well to take a big bite of humple pie and visit that great little hotel up the road called 'Magic Castle' and learn a thing or two about customer relations.
