1. Light rail runs right by the hotel and can be used for travel up and down the waterfront within new Jersey, including to nearby Liberty State Park, a bit of an unknown gem.

2. Jersey City is more affordable, less chaotic, gives more room to breathe, and, in my opinion, offers a more attractive cityscape (Jersey City has modern and new waterfront with glassy office and residential highrises, to go along with the older parts of the city further inland that add character and tradition).

3. The value for money can't be beaten though with a modern new studio with full on kitchen and AC just across from Manhattan.

4. We discovered the problem at about 11:30 PM when we returned from our day in NYC and the front desk said there was nothing they could do about it and gave us a key to a newly refurbished room.
