1. The Best Western chain can be counted on to have very nice properties especially when they are in upscale locations such as La Jolla.

6. A short walk from the ocean, a nice (albeit simple) free continental breakfast, and one of the most beautiful beaches I've ever seen, full of seals and pelicans and cool caves to explore.

9. We live in Santa Monica but have season tickets at the La Jolla Playhouse so the Best Western Inn By The Sea is a nice option centrally located in La Jolla Village.
