4. We arrived early (10 am) and were given a room right away (lucky) by efficient reception staff, and our car was taken off to the parking station.

We arrived at the hotel just before Christmas, the hotel was very quiet with most of the staff on days off, book in was quick and efficient and the room was resonable, though we still received a room looking inwards over the reception area (no space available??) The door man was great and helped us find our way around DC.

10. While with our families, we started doing more detailed web searches for a place to stay and could find practically nothing in DC for less than $250/night that looked (1) clean and decent and (2) close enough to a metro stop that we could travel efficiently with the kids.
