If you are going to have half of your spots inside and half outside, the outside parking should be less
expensive
since it's less secure and a bit of an inconvenience.

Parking was
expensive
, at $25 a night, but that is expected in downtown Portland.

The facility is exceptionally nice, almost on a par with the extremely
expensive
elite hotels downtown.

Portland is an
expensive
city to stay in, so personally I'd rather pay less for a nice hotel and walk a little further.

We did pay the $24 for parking, which is
expensive
, however, we have had very bad experience (scratching and damage) with parking in Portland's downtown public parking lots, so it was worth it to us to have our vehicle in a secure garage.

There was also an
expensive
mini-mart a block or so away and the hotel offered a limited selection of items for sale as well.

Caution- parking is
expensive
($24/night) - there is metered 2-hr parking all around the hotel, but there isn't anywhere you can just dump your car for free and forget about it.

Cons: the free streetcar was late and on a cold and windy evening (makes a big difference), the bed wasn't the most comfortable and parking was
expensive
.
