1. Old house, re-worked into big, characterful rooms with a very pleasantly eclectic selection of furnishings; spotlessly clean throughout; en-suite bathrooms with the slightly erratic water pressure, during a shower, that reminded me of how my kid sister used to flush the downstairs loo in hopes of scalding me as I showered upstairs; biscuits / cookies and tea set out in a 'common room' of an afternoon, with, in the adjoining room, sofas drawn up in front of a large, cheerily blazing hearth.
