The rubber leg had already been
broken
before and this was their idea of a 'quick fix' Instead of buying a $50 bed frame, they would rather risk the safety of their guest by jimmy rigging plastic to wood by way of a screw.

When I went to put the bed back on the frame, I found that maintenance had tried to screw the rubber leg into a wooden block and the screw had
broken
from the wooden block, and had fallen off.
