Perhaps it is ghosts of the old beat generation from which the Hotel derives its name that reminds us of the time of Lawernce Ferlingetti, whose 'City Lights Bookstore' is just down the street, or the spirit of novelist and poet Jack Kereuac or that of philosopher and writer Allen Ginsberg that makes this place so charming, worn and understated that yet refined and intellectually stimulating.
