1. air conditioner only made noise but produced no cold air, luckily the original fan when the hotel was built still worked and provided us with small relieve.
"Great price and location but old " Read full review on TripAdvisor   8/21/2011 Vote
2. It was as old as the hotel I think, many payers of white paint have been applied to the vintage couter and cabinets and the sink was labeled as being 'out of order', did I mention plumbing? You can expect plenty of noise, I think that UB's is the place that families stay who are traveling on the island, as in, they are in from Hilo or elsewhere on Hawaii, this means late night parties on the exterior balconies and stairways, loud stereos coming from cars in the parking lot and a morning that greets you with beer bottles, cans and trash strewn across the parking area and balconies.
"Killer location, terrible condition " Read full review on TripAdvisor   2/15/2011 Vote
3. However, the airco practically didn't work, in spite of making a lot of noise.

4. The rooms closest to the street are susceptible to street noise, but this being Kona, not a lot of traffic after 10:00 pm.

9. Everytime someone would step in the shower (I'm not joking) there would be a bellow or some kind of loud noise announcing the fact that the water had, once again, become possessed and scalded or froze the poor individual.
"DONT STAY HERE! " Read full review on YahooTravel   5/19/2005 Vote
10. It was clean and relatively quiet with the exception of New Years' Eve but we were in the middle of town and expected some noise.
