4. (This was not a problem for me; I was VERY comfortable) 3) There are open 'transoms' on the doors which means you can hear your neighbors more than usual.

5. The only negatives about the Hotel San Carlos are parking (valet parking is $20/day, but not easily discovered; but the parking problem is typical of all downtown hotels) and the restaurant, the Ghost Lounge, which is a separate leased operation - it doesn't fit the character of the rest of the hotel.

7. I would say that if you decide to say here the 3rd floor accesses the pool on the roof and when we went out to the pool at midnight there were a lot of young people from the bar downstairs who had congregated to the poolside tables to continue drinking so I would think that those rooms at the end of that hallway would be a problem for excessive noise.

8. They try to impress you with putting old actors/actresses names on doors who supposedly stayed in those rooms but the problem is the rooms are probably exactly the way they were 60 years ago without a thing being done to them.
"Very Dissapointing, overrated hotel " Read full review on TripAdvisor   3/4/2009 Vote
9. ) The main problem with our room was the noise: the doors are poorly insulated (there is a vent above, and a large gap below the door), and it seems as though the slightest bit of conversation in the hall is being held right next to your bed.
"Great location, noisy, good deal?? " Read full review on TripAdvisor   2/7/2009 Vote
10. And as far as the noise level, which some people seem to complain about, I personally did not have any problems with loud noises.
