2. Now the exceptional, the good, and the bad:The Exceptional: Complimentary hot chocolate with fixins in the lobby daily from 2 to 4:30 If you join the Kimpton in Touch program, wi-fi is free and you get $10 worth of complimentary items from the mini-bar in the room A wine reception (we didn't go to this, so I don't have the specifics) DVD player in the room Robes in the room Ipod docking station on the clock radio Night light in the bathroom Shelf in the shower stall They recycle paper, aluminum, and plasticThe Good: Separate tub and shower stall Marble bathroom Flat screen TV Good bed and good bedding Work desk Quiet Pleasant staff Location 1 1/2 blocks from the Union Station subway Park on the street free after 6:30 PM and on weekendsThe Not So Good: The view outside our window was office buildings and nothing else They might have better views if you ask The TV had the time wrong by many hours and many minutes with no way to fix it The clock radion had the time wrong by about 10 minutes with no way to fix it We requested that someone come to re-set the clock radio time, but no one ever came The bathroom light had a very difficult switch.

4. However, on weekends during the day, parking at a government lot at the end of the block is free until 9 p.m. After that, you can move your car to streets, since parking is free after 5 p.m. All street parking is free on holidays as well (we were there over Labor Day).

7. However if you are here over the weekend you can find street parking for free nearby (even directly across the street from the hotel) - just be sure to read the signs very, very carefully and be aware that by 7am on Monday morning the free parking will inevitably revert back to metered or permit parking only.
