1. The room was gorgeous, the bed was fabulous, room service on Sat morning was really good (tea service in a lovely silver pot), and the Sunday brunch couldn't have been any better.

7. What I did not care for:-The lobby is visually offensive, overly gilded columns, fake plants, etc. -The unattractive room decor might be described as gothic meets Best Western-Stained carpet-Vending machines did not work (I stopped trying after visiting 4 floors)-Tired rooms with the overall impression that lots of partying has taken place-Basement pool was really awful, really stinky and highly chlorinated-Noisy guestsBest part about The Davenport:-Comfortable beds, linens, and pillows-Good room temperature-Spacious room-Decent room service-Convenient and reasonable valet service-The afternoon light into the room was very prettyWould I stay here again:No.

9. We switched from a national chain to the original Davenport using the 'getaway' package' which provides free valet parking and $100 credit per night for dining (4 options) plus bar and room service, very upscale, quiet on the north side, big room but small flat screen which was not a big issue for us will stay againfree wifi was very slow.
"Great hotel at price equal to chains " Read full review on TripAdvisor   8/17/2011 Vote
10. I will have to say though that my usual critical palate was somewhat switched into standby mode as I was just so happy to spend some precious time with my girl-san :)The following morning we requested a late checkout which the staff easily accommodated and then ordered room service.
