4. The inn is located 10 minutes' drive from anywhere in the city (beaches, shopping, theatres, restaurants galore) and very near to the entrance to the beautiful drive over the pass to gorgeous Santa Ynez Valley vineyards and the Danish village of Solvang.

5. There was a great little notebook in the room that recommended nearby restaurants and cafes, (we found this great french cafe in the notebook, Renaud's, located across the street with amazing sweets and breakfasts!) and of course, the best part was that it was under $90/night.

7. Taxi rides to downtown State Street were only $10, and there was a great sushi restaurant right next door, as well as a grocery store across the street, which was convenient since we had a kitchenette.
