1. If you pay the extra to stay downtown you get a nice room and you're within walking distance of all the sights and bars.

2. Bars on windows, places closed down, etc. However, in the immediate vicinity of the hotel the area looks decent.

3. Try Demo's on Commerce St for a good steak and of course you must dance on the bar at Coyote Ugly.
