1. I stayed at the Doubletree Nashville Downtown for a meeting and found it to be a pleasant surprise.

2. It is not a five star hotel, but the rooms are clean and good-sized, the beds are comfortable and the location is great - within walking distance of downtown attractions and lots of restaurants, and I believe the Opryland Shuttle stops at or near the hotel.
