However, they meant that it's free
to park
the night that you stay at the hotel.

It would have been cheaper
to park
our car at a 'park and fly' lot, than to stay one night in this miserable place and pay them for this service -- a service that had us waiting about an hour to be picked up from the airport.

My friend then went
to park
the car in the back of the parking lot (not where we were told
to park
on my last 2 stays at all --my last stays we were asked
to park
in front of the building where the front desk person could keep an eye on the car while you were traveling for the week.

After I made the reservation I called and talked to someone at the hotel to confirm that we would have transportation from the hotel to Park and Ride and then to Summerfest from there- I explained that that I did not want to keep the reservation if this transportation was not available.

I asked her--casually--why the parking fee was so high, and she straightforwardly explained that the hotel was usually $75 but they advertised online for much cheaper and then charged the online-reserved travelers an extra $30
to park
.

We had
to park
where we could see the car from the room, if you saw the parking lot and conditions of surrounding buildings you'd understand why.
